CONCEALED HANDGUN PERMIT
In Wake County you must complete a concealed carry course from a state certified instructor,
go to CCBI (in the Wake County Sheriff's Office Building) for fingerprinting (cost $10.00),
then make application for the permit with the sheriff's office (same office where you apply for the pistol permit, cost $80.00).
Concealed handgun permits are to be issued within 90 days of application.
A concealed handgun permit is totally different from a pistol permit for purchasing a handgun.
This permit enables you to carry a concealed handgun on or about your person where allowed by law.
The only similarity between the two permits is that they are obtained through the sheriff of the county you live in.
